we would like to say thankyou for a wonderful nights stay in your beautiful hotel on sat 31.7 after our visit to the races.  we will certainly recommend you to our family and friends and hope to stay with you again, hopefully for longer next time and with a visit to the restaurant.
 
we only had two tiny little niggles with the room (by no means is this is a complaint!!!), there was no full length mirror in our room and the bed was very squeaky!!! (room 6).

When we first stepped foot in Oswalds early last year we knew instantly that we wanted to have our Wedding reception here. The staff didn't know we were coming to scout the place out and were natural pleasant and helpful. Since that day we have regularly had meals with friends and family at Oswalds and will continue to do so.
As the 24th July 2010 loomed nearer I called on My saviour Peter - who overlooks the running of the restaurant, to finalise any minor details. All the staff at Oswalds are always willing to dedicate their time to you no matter how small the query. I was able to view all the rooms on separate occasions, which allowed me to allocate suitable rooms to my guests. This was important to us as some of our family have small children, which again wasn't a problem as there are rooms which allow for cots or an extra bed.
Finally the day arrived. Myself and my chief Bridesmaid stayed over at Oswalds the night before. The room was tidy and spacious-just what we needed to accommodate 3 Bridesmaid dresses and my beautiful gown. And as the guests began to filter in they were taken aback by the stunning decoration Oswalds boasts. I had flowers arranged externally but Oswalds allowed us to decorate however was required. The Oswalds team rallied round arranging the tables for me and getting the drinks on ice. We left for the church and as the ceremony passed in a blur it was time to head back over to Oswalds for our much awaited meal! With the choice of 3 starters the guest tucked in, with laughter and chatter amongst the tables, which in my opinion is always a good sign, not only for the Bride & Groom but for the restaurant as well. Next followed our Champagne sorbets-I have never had champagne sorbet before but it was beautiful. Onto our main course, again there was a choice of three. The Groom & I had opposite meat dishes so we could swap, its a tough decision between Beef & Pork, but neither of us would share our Yorkshire puddings. The vegetarian option we had was a Feta & Aubergine parcel. And finally, in my opinion, came the best bit...PUDDING!! I asked in a previous meeting with Peter if it would be possible for my lovely Groom to have extra Sauce with his Sticky Toffee Pudding, and as promised Scott received his huge piece of Sticky Toffee Pudding with a jug of Sauce.
As we struck it lucky with the weather Peter and the staff promptly arrange to serve Tea & Coffee out side on the decking area. Now not only were the guests surrounded by the smell of fresh coffee but we also had a hog roast, which was cooked all day in preparation for the evening meal. As 9.00pm approached our huge hog was ready. The staff brought out chips, bread rolls and Apple sauce. The pork was served with the crackling and as over 100 guests tucked into their food not a shred of food was left.
All in all our experience with Oswalds has been fantastic. All of the staff from cooks to cleaner have gone above and beyond their call of duty to make our experience unforgettable.
We would like to Thank Oswalds for all the efforts in the run up and on the day of our wonderful Wedding. So many people have give such positive feedback, about the food, the rooms, and the over all setting. It really has been fantastic, Thank You all so much, and we look forward to be well looked after customers of Oswalds for the future.

Just to say thank you for a lovely stay on Friday 16th July 2010. The room was delightful, the bath wonderful (after spending the week on a small boat it was pure luxury) and the food and service excellent. We look forward to staying with you again.
